I fitted up the choke cable today and they also needed trimming to length. I thought it was time to fit on the fire wall and figure out where some of these cables were to emerge. The instructions tell you to just drill a hole and fill around it with silicone. That didn't look too great so I machined up some bushes out of a 10mm bolt.

Fitting the fire wall was a real bugger, its not the greatest thing and I often wonder if the one made by Graham Singleton would be a better bet. I remember it took the best part of 25 hours to construct and I think I spent another 3 hours messing around with it today.

Of to the UK to attend the Kemble Air show. One thing I like about living in the USA is that Europe is so close. In less than 8 hours I have transited from Chicago to Manchester where my good friend Graham Singleton collected me. The Kemble air show is a good two hours drive from Manchester and we stayed with Gerry Holland, another Europa builder. Gerry is doing a super job on his aircraft and as usual his had a few personal touches. He has an interesting air vent system on the roof, and a really nice rudder pedal set up. The air vents are feed from a pop up hatch on the roof.

The show was very nice, and its apparent that in Europe, the Europa aircraft is king!. Seventy five Europa's flew in from allover Europe. I was really great to be able to check out what people had done, and for me what is of special interest is paint schemes

The guys from Europa aircraft stopped buy and stayed over on the way to the Oshkosh air show. John took me for a run inthe mono wheel where I attempted 5 landings. I am sorry to say that I lost it every time on the roll out. I will have my work cut out for me learning to fly this beast.
Needless to say no building was done this weekend, but Neville Eyre from Europa gave mine a good look over and complemented my work. (I bet he says that to all the boys!)
